Which Books Did Gabe Hudson Write?
Hudson has a Master of Fine Arts from Brown University, where he won the prestigious John Hawkes Prize in Fiction. He also served as a rifleman in the Marine Corps Reserve.
Hudson’s story collection “Dear Mr. President” was chosen as one of the Ten Best Books of the Year by GQ, as well as a Best Book of the Year by The St. Louis Post-Dispatch and The Village Voice, and a New & Noteworthy Paperback by The New York Times. It is regarded as “the first significant piece of Gulf-war fiction”.
Hudson has previously served as Chair of Yonsei University’s Underwood International College’s Creative Writing Program. He worked as a creative writing program instructor at Princeton University from 2004 to 2007 before to joining Yonsei University.
The New Yorker, The Village Voice, McSweeney’s, Granta, Columbia: A Journal of Literature and Art, the International Herald Tribune and The New York Times Magazine have all been published pieces by Hudson. The HBO book “Six Feet Under: Better Living Through Death” featured writing by Hudson. He was a McSweeney’s editor-at-large. Granta Magazine named him one of the “Twenty Best Young American Novelists” in 2007.
