Who is Nathaniel Hackett's wife Megan? Taking a glimpse at Ex-Broncos head coach's personal life beh

Publish date: 2024-10-02

The Denver Broncos announced early Monday afternoon that they had fired first-year head coach Nathaniel Hackett. This was his first time as an NFL head coach and since Week 1 has struggled with many facets of the position, including in-game decision-making.

When it was announced that Hackett would become the Denver Broncos head coach, his family joined him at the press conference. He and his wife Megan were college sweethearts after meeting as students at the University of California, Davis. They have four children -- two sons and two daughters: Harrison, London, Briar, and Everly.

The couple is apparently big fans of the Star Wars movies and never misses a movie premiere, even if it falls during the season. His wife Megan once lived by the Skywalker Ranch, George Lucas' movie ranch and office in Marin County, California.

Nathaniel and Megan moved their family from Green Bay, Wisconsin, last January, where he was formerly the offensive coordinator for the Packers.

Who is Nathaniel Hackett's father Paul?

Nathaniel Hackett isn't the only football coach in his family. His father, Paul, was a head coach at the collegiate and professional levels for decades. Like Nathaniel, Paul started his coaching career at their alma mater, UC Davis.

Paul coached at Cal, the University of Southern California, and the University of Pittsburgh during his college football days. He was also the Cleveland Browns' quarterback coach from 1981-1982 and the San Francisco 49ers' quarterback and wide receivers coach from 1993 to 1985.

Paul Hackett then went on to become the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs from 1993 to 1997. During that time, Nathaniel was the Chiefs' ballboy during training camp. After a three-year stint back at USC, this time as head coach, Paul returned to the NFL as the offensive coordinator for the New York Jets from 2001 to 2004.

He was then the quarterbacks coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2005 to 2007. In 2008, he worked on special projects for the Oakland Raiders before returning to the coaching realm as the Raiders' quarterbacks coach from 2009 to 2010.

Hackett then retired from coaching. His combined record as a head coach at the University of Pittsburgh and USC is 32-38-1.

Whether Nathaniel will take some time off from coaching remains to be seen in the coming months as coaching jobs become available.
