My Real Dad Is Black
A day after the man listed on Shaun King’s birth certificate as his father was revealed to be white, the prominent Black Lives Matter activist said the man is not his biological father. On Thursday, King wrote at Daily Kos that “I have been told for most of my life that the white man on my birth certificate is not my biological father and that my actual biological father is a light-skinned black man. My mother and I have discussed her affair.” Kentucky public records reviewed by The Daily Beast show the father listed on his birth certificate is white. Jeffery Wayne King, born Nov. 11, 1955, is listed as Shaun King’s father on his birth certificate; criminal records identify Jeffery King’s ethnicity as white. After Breitbart News questioned Shaun King’s race on Wednesday, the activist tweeted that he “did not concoct a lie” about his race.
